Still Learning Turkish (Dennis)

My Turkish is improving; I can get by pretty well in face to face conversations, but I still dread phone calls to people I do not know--especially customer service calls.  Should be pretty simple, right?  Here's a recent one with our internet provider:

Service rep: Thank you for calling Turksat, how can I help you?
Me: My internet does not work.  It comes and goes; right now it does not exist.  It has been like this for a week and right now it is not working.
SR: Can I confirm the name on the account?
Me: Yes. Wait...what?
SR: What is your name?
Me: Dennis. Williams.
SR: Can I confirm that your service number is (said in about .25 seconds) 1029758398748?
Me: (I heard 48) Yes.
SR: Can you disconnect the modem from the power and reconnect it?
Me: Huh? Can you say that again?
SR: Can you disconnect the modem from your electricity and reconnect it?
Me: Our electricity is working.
SR: Your electricity is working.  OK.  Great.  Can you try to disconnect the modem from the electricity and reconnect it?
Me: What?  I don't understand.
SR: You can take the plug out of the modem and then insert it and we will see if the connection works.
Me: The plug! Yes! I tried that two or three times and it didn't work.
SR: Please remove the plug right now and re-insert it.
Me: OK, I'm removing the plug right now.  Should we wait 20 minutes (I meant seconds)?
SR: We do not need to wait that long.  Please re-insert the plug now.
Me: OK, I'm doing it.
SR: It looks like from here there is a problem with your connection.  We will send a service rep within 5 hours to fix it.
Me: Can you send a service rep today?
SR: Yes, someone will come to your place within 5 hours.
Me: Within five hours?
SR: Yes.
Me: OK!
SR: Can you confirm the address of your account?
Me: What?
SR: What is your address?
(I give her the address)
SR: Thank you.  Is there anything else I can help you with today (probably praying that there wasn't)?
Me: No other thing exists.  Thank you.
SR: Thank you, have a good day.
Me: Bye-bye.

I think I am on the road to convincing people that my problem isn't so much that I don't understand the language, as much as I am just plain dumb.
